Sunday, September 8 - Depart on our Journey! 

Today, we’ll begin our journey!  Sit back, relax and enjoy the views as we make our way to Muskegon, Michigan where we’ll overnight at the Shoreline Hotel.  A buffet dinner is included at the hotel.  (Dinner)


Monday, September 9

This morning after breakfast, we’re off on our Guided Tour of Muskegon. We will make a stop at the Pere Marquette Lighthouse, then visit the Hackley(1890) & Hume (1920) Historic Homes.  This site includes the Queen Anne Style Victorian homes of Muskegan Lumber Barons Charles Hackley and Thomas Hume, and shows what life was like for one of the most well-known citizens in the area. Following lunch we will tour the White River Light Station Museum, a Historic lighthouse built in 1875 and home of a maritime museum. Next, depart for the AquaStar and enjoy a cruise through the Muskegon Channel and around Muskegon Lake while we learn about the history of the lake and it’s influence on Muskegon. This evening we will enjoy dinner on the 

USS LST-393 Museum Ship. LST stands for landing ship tank (or as many soldiers called it a long slow target). The LST 393 was in many battles including D Day. The main deck held 28 Sherman tanks with jeeps and trucks on the higher decks. The LST is one of two remaining after the war. At the front of the ship are bow doors that the tanks and other equipment went through. This is a ship museum that honors all veterans throughout the ship.     (Breakfast/Dinner)


Tuesday, September 10 

This morning after breakfast our first stop is Mac Wood Dune Rides in Mears, Michigan where you will board special dune schooners to ride on the sand dunes in the Silver Lake area. Your experienced driver will amuse and educate you as you cruise the slopes and valleys of one of Michigan’s treasures. Next, after lunch on own in Luddington, MI, we will have time to explore the shops along Main Street. Then depart for a Tour of the Luddington/Manistee area including a tour of the Coast Guard Station in Manistee. Overnight in Manistee, MI at Manistee National Golf & Resort Inn. Dinner is included at your leisure in the hotel dining room.   (Breakfast/Dinner)

 

Wednesday, September 11

Enjoy breakfast this morning before we depart for our cruise across Lake Michigan on the S.S. Badger Lake Michigan Ferry for Wisconsin. Lunch on own aboard the Badger. Then we arrive in Manitowoc where our Step-On Guide will meet us for our guided tour to included a visit to Canal and Pier Lights on east end of Sturgeon Bay Canal, discuss canal and lighthouse history; include a Walk to/on pier into Lake Michigan, view U.S. Coast Guard Station; Drive to Sturgeon Bay visit the east end of the canal to see Canal & Pier Light and Coast Guard Station, then to the west end of the Bay of Sturgeon Bay and through the City of Sturgeon Bay; Share the history of Sturgeon Bay as a ship building city, drive past Bay Ship (active ship yard) to Old Quarry Park; View Sherwood Point Lighthouse across the mouth of the Bay of Sturgeon Bay and the Bay of Green Bay; and Drive north along scenic Bayside to Lakeside. Early evening we will arrive at our hotel for the night, Settlement Courtyard Inn, in Fish Creek, Wisconsin. This evening we will enjoy an included Traditional Door County Fish Boil at Pelletiers.   (Breakfast/Dinner) 


Thursday, September 12

This morning enjoy breakfast before we depart for a Guided Tour of Baileys Harbor Range Lights and walk between Range Lights to the beach. The Baileys Harbor Range Lights are a pair of lighthouses arranged in a range light configuration. Then we will tour Cana Island Lighthouse, optional climb the tower and walk island property. After an included lunch at Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant, we will drop our guide in the Green Bay area and continue on to Lake Geneva, WI.  After we arrive at our lodging, the Ridge Hotel in Lake Geneva, WI, dinner is included.   (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

 

Friday, September 13 - Depart for home 

This morning, depart for home taking wonderful memories of our vacation to cherish.  (Breakfast)
